Peter Boxall utga i 2006 boka «1001 bøker du må lese før du dør». Senere har denne lista blitt redigert og oppdatert, samt kommet i flere nye utgaver. Dette vil si at den komplette lista over bøker som har vært inkludert i alle utgavene nå er over 1300 bøker. Nedenfor er disse listet opp ved hjelp av lista appen «1001-books» presenterer. Denne appen kan også fortelle meg at i nåværende lesetempo vil jeg ha lest alle bøkene da jeg er 79 år gammel. Så dette blir å anse som et livsprosjekt.
